Ride a Revolution…

...and help fund a Surf Therapy program in Robertsport, Liberia!

To support our fundraiser to bring Surf Therapy to the Robertsport Surf Club in Liberia, we decided to make two original eco-surfboards.

Robertsport Liberia

Most surfboards are still made from toxic petrochemical plastic by-products like PU foam, fibreglass and epoxy resin. This means that your humble surfboard is a “forever product” and will remain in landfills, or discarded in the environment, for a thousand years after it has ridden its last wave and outlived its usefulness. We did not want our products in support of this incredible initiative to contribute to that!

So we partnered up with Grow Blanks, a unique African surf start-up that aims to disrupt the global surfboard manufacturing industry with organic and bio-degradable surfboard blanks made from the stems of the humble Sisal Agave plant at their plantation in Kenya.

The boards were then expertly shaped in Durban by Kei Weyer from Analogy surfboards, turning out two deluxe 6’10 channel bottom twins, Analogy’s best selling model, which were wrapped in an organic cloth and glassed with bio-resin epoxy, to ensure that every part of these boards comes from nature and will decompose organically once they’ve been surfed to death and outlived their usefulness as wave-riding craft!
